Hydranut

What is a Hydranut?

The HydraNut is a precision engineered, high pressure, high performance, hydraulically operated bolt tensioning device that can be quickly and easily fitted and used with standard pumping equipment (eg. hand operated pressure pumps).

It is manufactured in a choice of steel or stainless steel of tensile strength to suit the required application.

Why use a Hydranut?

The HydraNut is suitable for use when:

Accurate and reliable loading is required on bolting.
Vibrational or torsional stresses are a problem.
Regular maintenance requires repeated adjustment or removal of nuts.
There are confined and difficult nut locations.

A HydraNut is ideal for situations where the nuts are unscrewed regularly for maintenance.

The HydraNut is a hydraulically operated nut with a patented buttress thread. The thread sets our product apart from our opposition by allowing us to use a smaller outside diameter on our lockring which reduces the overall dimension of the HydraNut.

Our standard range of HydraNuts cover sizes from 1”/ M20 to 3”/ M80. Other sizes are available on request.

The HydraNut has recently won the Platt's Global Energy Award for best new Technology of the Year, Telstra Small Business Award, FEN Award and an Endeavour Award.

Dustcovers

Because of some of the harsh environments such as cushing and mining in which Hydranuts are use we provide our customers with the option of fitting their Hydranuts with uv stable covers.

These covers not only help prolong the life of the hydranut but also make removal of the hydranut a breeze as the hydranuts are not subject to any of the environmental factors such as dust and debris which could affect the removal of the tool.

The drawings above show just how the Hydranut stretches the stud to tension the stud accurately. once the required load is placed on the stud the machanical lockring is then wound down to take the load and the pressure is then released. the hose can then be disconnected and the stud is then accuratly loaded.
